What drywall patching really involves
We patch drywall every day — often 20+ patch points on a single walk-through before painting. The workflow is the same on every one: assess the hole or ding, add backing if needed, cut a clean replacement piece, tape and three-coat mud, match the texture on scrap board, then prime and paint.
The reason a lot of DIY or handyman patches show up later is skipped steps: no backing behind a 3" hole, mesh tape used instead of paper, mud applied thick in one pass, texture skipped, or the wall painted with a small roller that leaves a different stipple. We use paper tape, three thin coats, matched texture, and the same roller nap on the whole wall so the patch blends.

For small patches we can usually complete demo, patch, first coat and texture in one visit, then a second short visit for finish sand, prime and paint. Same-day is possible for very small scopes.
How many patches do I need before it's worth calling?
There's no minimum, but small jobs have a minimum service charge. If you have 5–10 patches, we can often bundle them into a half-day visit.
